eCube Announces IBM AIX 6.1 certification for Entera with NXTera

The NXTera 6.0 release now supports IBM AIX 6.1 -- a replacement for Entera middleware used on AIX 4.3, 5.2 and 5.3.

Houston, Texas. April 28, 2011

eCube Systems, a leading provider of middleware modernization, integration and management technology, announced today that it certified NXTera 6.0 on IBM's latest AIX version, 6.1. eCube has spent months building and testing the NXTera tools as well as Oracle, DB2, Informix and MySQL databases on AIX 6.1 and the replacement technology for Entera has passed all of the tests.

The NXTera 6.0 middleware will include an updated tool set (now written in Java) and a new development environment for developing C and Java code on AIX 6.1. The new middleware release will also include a license NXTera Workbench and a license NXTera RPC middleware for Windows servers. The new release of NXTera allows users to extend and update applications to new platforms and versions of AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux and Windows.

"We have done a complete test of the NXTera product suite on AIX 6.1," says Peter Garbes, Senior Developer at eCube Systems. "We feel that NXTera 6.0 is the best release of Entera/NXTera available ever since it works with existing Entera applications and works with newer languages and technology to produce high-speed applications."

The NXTera Middleware allows developers and organizations to easily migrate their high-speed RPC data and function calls for use with AIX 6.1 and other contemporary operating systems. The product will be delivered in the form of a support and maintenance subscription. This ensures that developers have the flexibility they need to support new versions of the operating systems as they become available. In addition, NXTera Workbench leverages the Eclipse development environment to provide tools to enhance C, Cobol and Java development advances as they become available.

The NXTera Middleware consists of the NXTera runtime, the NXTera Development Package and NXTera Workbench with Eclipse. This version of NXTera supports C, Cobol, Delphi, Fortran, perl and python server logic and extends support to all major OS platforms for OpenVMS, Windows, UNIX, LINUX and MacOS.
